Description:
The talk will describe BioLabs North Carolina, part of a national network of shared lab facilities located in the nation’s key biotech innovation clusters, designed exclusively for high-potential, early-stage life sciences companies. It offers coworking environments that pair premium, fully equipped and supported lab and office space with unparalleled access to capital and industry partners. It is a launchpad for high-potential life sciences and biotech startups spun out of the leading research institutions in NC. Progress to date and future challenges will be discussed.

Ed Field currently is the President of BioLabs NC.  Mr. Field is a life science entrepeneur that has been involved in building and selling numerous early-stage and publicly-traded life science companies    At those companies, he has been responsible for managing commercial operations, regulatory, manufacturing, clinical development, corporate partnering, and fund raising.  He is active locally in mentoring early stage life science companies as a Mentor for the CED Venture Mentoring Service program and an Executive-In-Residence for the NC State Office of Technology Commercialization & New Ventures.  He was previously the Chairman of NCBIO and serves currently on its Executive Committee.  Mr. Field received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Administration and a BS from Duke University.
